Acceptable Use

Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: July 7, 2026 · Effective upon acceptance

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs use of Call-e's Services. It is incorporated into the Terms of Service and the Master Subscription Agreement. Capitalized terms have the meanings given there. We may update this AUP as described in those agreements. Violating this AUP is a material breach and may result in suspension or termination. You are responsible for your Authorized Users' compliance with this AUP.

1. Recording, consent, and surveillance

You must not use the Services to:

  • Record, intercept, or analyze any communication without providing all notices and obtaining all consents required by applicable law (including federal and state wiretap, eavesdropping, and two-party-consent laws). You are solely responsible for determining and meeting these requirements. See the Recording & Consent Notice.
  • Disable, suppress, or circumvent any recording disclosure that the Services or an integrated platform provide (for example, Zoom's "this meeting is being recorded" announcement).
  • Conduct covert surveillance, stalking, or monitoring of individuals in violation of law or their reasonable expectation of privacy.

2. Prohibited data

You must not upload to or process through the Services:

  • Protected health information (PHI) governed by HIPAA, or operate the Services as a "business associate." Call-e is not HIPAA-compliant and is not intended for PHI.
  • Payment card data (full card numbers/PAN), government-issued identification numbers, or financial account credentials, except where the Services expressly support them.
  • Special-category / sensitive personal data beyond what the Services are designed to handle, unless you have a lawful basis and have configured the Services appropriately.
  • Biometric identifiers (such as voiceprints or faceprints) collected or used in violation of the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) or other biometric-privacy laws. You are responsible for any notices and consents those laws require for your recordings.
  • Material that is unlawful for you to possess or share.

3. Prohibited conduct

You must not, and must not permit anyone to:

  • Use the Services in violation of any applicable law or third-party right, or to facilitate illegal activity (including fraud, deceptive sales practices, harassment, or discrimination).
  • Upload malware or interfere with or disrupt the integrity, security, or performance of the Services.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services, other accounts, or our systems or networks.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Services, or breach security or authentication measures, without our prior written consent.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code or underlying models, except to the extent applicable law prohibits this restriction.
  • Use the Services to build or train a competing product or model, or to benchmark for a competitor.
  • Resell, sublicense, or provide the Services to third parties as a service bureau except as expressly permitted.
  • Use automated means to access the Services in a way that exceeds your plan limits or degrades the Services for others.
  • Misrepresent AI-generated outputs as professional advice (legal, financial, medical, or otherwise) or as guaranteed accurate.

4. Communications and messaging

If we make any outbound communication, calling, or messaging features available in the future, you must use them only in compliance with applicable laws (including the TCPA, CAN-SPAM, and similar laws) and only with all required consents. You are responsible for your own communications conducted through connected third-party tools.

5. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations and may suspend or limit access to the Services to prevent harm, protect the Services or others, or comply with law. Where practical and lawful, we will give notice and an opportunity to cure. We may remove or disable content that violates this AUP or that we are legally required to remove. We may report unlawful activity to authorities.

6. Reporting

Report suspected violations or abuse to security@call-e.io.
